A journey to balance and well-being

BrainBodyBalance values a holistic approach to health - the body and mind are not just connected, they are one and the same. Tuning in, deeply listening and resourcing the body can re-balance the system and allow healing to occur.

From overwhelmed to empowerment

With nearly 25 years as a clinical social worker, my journey has taken me through diverse settings, including reproductive healthcare, early intervention home visiting, daycares, schools, and private practice. My passion has always been supporting perinatal women, children, and their caregivers within the context of family well-being. The synergy between mind and body has captivated my attention for years, driving my personal and professional studies and practices.

My work with struggling families has taught me that traditional cognitive and behavioral interventions often aren't enough, especially in our toughest moments. Learning about the body and incorporating practices to support my nervous system became my most powerful tool for managing stress and emotions in my own life, and unexpectedly, it profoundly benefitted my relationships and my parenting. This insight became the foundation of BrainBodyBalance.

The potency of somatic therapies

What makes BrainBodyBalance truly unique is the cutting edge methodologies backed by scientific evidence. Movement and sound are incredibly potent and effective because they calm the brainstem, or survival part of the brain, which improves access to higher level thinking. These methods work without relying on language, making them accessible to people of all ages (children to elders) and abilities. By using the body as a primary tool, we help build capacity in every area of functioning, providing simple yet profound results.

Resourcing women and families

My greatest joy comes from supporting women and mothers. They often dedicate so much to their families that they neglect their own needs, leading to burnout, anger, and dysregulation. My mission is to help women recover their bodies and spirits, enabling them to find deeper fulfillment and a stronger connection to their highest selves and their children. BrainBodyBalance is committed to supporting families by creating shifts in relational patterns and fostering secure attachment, helping generations to come.

"I’m a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner & Alexander Technique Teacher, and I often use developmental movements in my practice.  Hannah introduced me to rhythmic movements and gave me a tutorial in the basic movements. Doing them myself, I immediately noticed increased calm, groundedness, and whole-body connectivity. I eagerly shared them with clients, who found them effective and, importantly, super accessible and easy to integrate into their lives. I'm grateful to have this tool in my toolbelt!"
